The past couple of weeks have brought lots of good changes for us and the boys. Two weeks ago, Alex wouldn't let us leave a room without him, even for a few seconds (say, to grab a tissue). He wouldn't really complain about us leaving, he'd simply stop whatever it was that he was doing, quickly stash whatever toys he could carry in his hand, under his arm, or under his chin (and, usually, all three), and follow along. It was kind of cute, but also sort of sad. Those days -- much to our relief and, I think, his -- are gone! He's happy to sit in an adjoining room playing choo-choo while we make dinner, he ventures out to the back porch by himself to grab new toys, and he runs 'round and round' the house after his big brother, laughing maniacally.

In other news ...
Alex has discovered his nurturing side. He's really loving this baby these days. It's quite sweet.

Alex has also started to ride a bike!

He's really quite a madman on this thing. He can't quite reach the pedals, so he 'Flintstones' it very quickly down the driveway and along the road. Here, he's stopping abruptly to tell me he's spotted the neighbor's cat.
Run cat, run!

Meanwhile, Owen is starting to ride his bike sans training wheels and has learned to swing by himself! There are pictures and videos of these events around here somewhere, but I can't seem to locate them at the moment. More to come ....
Way to go boys!!!

Oh, busy summer days!! Bring lots of changes, huh? Our neighbors have a cat too and all the kids AND the dog keep wanting to torment it :)
What an awesome summer you guys are having! Josh too, can finally play upstairs and around the house without us! Kind of weird, because he will trash a room without me knowing it...and then I realize...wait...he was not on my leg...he can get into things!! ha ha ha ha. What a welcome show of independence!! You go Alex!! And I love your baby doll! Josh has a bear that is about his size...he carry's it all over and talks to it and puts clothes on it. I love that!!! :) What better than a care taker to these little men!! That must be like an angel to them!!
