Happy Birthday, Alexander!!

On August 12th, one year ago, our adoption agency asked us if we’d like to review the file of a little boy. It was his first birthday and they wondered if we might be his family. Indeed! Over the past week, we’ve had great fun celebrating his second birthday with him.

He’s had a great time traveling cross-country (this trip was child's-play compared to that crazy trip home from China) ...

Spending time with his grandparents and meeting, for the first time, mom and dad’s friends (and their gorgeous kids) from college and graduate school, and his aunts, uncles, cousins, great-aunt, and great-grandmother ...

Opening gifts ...

Blowing out candles -- over and over again ...

Eating cupcakes ...

And ice cream ...

And enjoying the not-so-local attractions ...

Next up is Owen's Birthday!!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Alex! What a sweetheart; I recognize all those band aids as a rite of passage into toddler-hood!! What did kids do before all the fun multi-colored, charactered band aids??
