One Month Ago Today

One month ago today we met Alex for the first time ... in a crowded hallway, filled with anxious parents, in Zhengzhou, China.

It's remarkable to me that he spent his first 16 months in an orphanage. How this child could come to us smiling and how he could continue to smile and laugh and trust as we changed just about everything he knew is amazing to me.

Today, it occurred to me that Alex may never have had anyone slow-dance with him the way we did with Owen when he was a baby. So, I put on the music and we danced. He fell asleep in my arms. I love this boy.

Alex is soooo cute! He really does have the best smile. Glad to hear you all are doing well - Josh was asking about your family just the other day. I'll make sure to show him the pictures on your blog. Michelle loves to dance too - she has a little routine worked out with Bill, after dinner each night she plays the music on a little Hallmark snowman, and holds up her arms for him to pick her up to dance. It's priceless!
