Why I'm Not a Speech Therapist

It occured to me the other day that Alex doesn't include "s" sounds at the beginning of words. So, "socks" is "ocks". "Spooky spider" is "pooky biter". "See" is "tee". I thought I'd try to intervene by getting him to say "sss -" "ocks" and "sss -" "pooky" and so forth. We were making some progress. Then, tonight at dinner, he proudly said "sss -" "grandma". :)

I think we're in trouble ....

This morning, I said to the boys, "The next one of you who throws a puzzle piece has to go upstairs!". Owen looked at me and very sincerely asked, "What does the second one who throws a puzzle piece get?"

Little stinker. :)

Plein Air

This afternoon we took the boys to a plein air painting event on campus. We checked out the artists' works-in-progress and did some of our own.

This is Owen's rendition of the winding river.

Alex prefers his representations to be a bit more abstract.

After painting, the boys played in the dirt ...

Rolled in the grass ...

Acted goofy ...

And played in the dirt some more ..
