Meanwhile, Owen started first grade last Wednesday and seems to be really enjoying it! The school is experimenting with a 9 weeks on, 2 weeks off schedule. I think this sounds vaguely nightmarish for working parents (and their kids), but we'll see how it goes.
Instead of having him take the bus in the mornings, we've been biking in with him. Good times!

I think the basement is looking great! Too bad you didn't get two weeks off every 9 too!
You guys are inspiring me with your basement makeover - we have lots of projects around here that could use some time and attention. Good luck with the year 'round school plan. We had that when we lived in California, and I liked it, but it can be a challenge until your area catches up with child care! Love catching up with you all on your blog.
